Here are common questions and solutions when using Claude Code.

Base URL and routes

The examples use the Mainland China route, https://api-lb.cubence.ai. For global use, set the Base URL to https://api.cubence.ai; outside Mainland China, you can use https://api.cubence.com. Keep any request path when switching routes. See API endpoints and Base URL configuration.

How to resume a previous session?

Use the claude -c command to resume the most recent conversation session and continue your previous work.

Configuration Issues

How to configure Claude Code extension in VSCode?
  1. First complete CLI configuration (refer to Claude Code Setup)
  2. Open configuration directory:
    • Windows: Win+R and enter %userprofile%\.claude
    • macOS: Command+Shift+G and enter ~/.claude
  3. Create or edit config.json, add: {"primaryApiKey": "Cubence"}
  4. Restart VSCode
What to do if configuration file doesn't take effect?
  1. Confirm the configuration file path is correct (Windows: %userprofile%\.claude\settings.json, macOS: ~/.claude/settings.json)
  2. Check if the file name is correct, make sure it's settings.json not settings.json.txt
  3. Check if JSON format is correct (use online JSON validator)
  4. Restart the terminal and try again
What to do if API Key is invalid?
  1. Confirm API Key is copied correctly without extra spaces
  2. Confirm API Key has not expired, check key status in Cubence console
  3. Confirm ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL matches the root URL of your selected route, such as https://api-lb.cubence.ai for Mainland China

Other Issues

What to do about connection timeout or network error?
  1. Check if network connection is normal
  2. Confirm ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL matches the root URL of your selected route, such as https://api-lb.cubence.ai for Mainland China
  3. If using a proxy, ensure proxy configuration is correct
  4. Try turning off VPN or proxy and retry
What to do about permission-related errors?
  1. macOS/Linux: Ensure configuration file has correct read/write permissions chmod 600 ~/.claude/settings.json
  2. Windows: Check if file is being used by another program, or run terminal as administrator
